Major trends in the leisure and health industries together with the large demographic shifts are of great importance to Germany’s regions and municipalities as well as to all of Europe. Is tourism for senior citizens the right solution? Should school buildings that are no longer in use be converted into hostels? What trends should operators and investors look out for?
These are the topics that the ‘Investment forum for youth accommodation’ will be examining on the afternoon of Thursday, 5 March 2015 as bankers, entrepreneurs, and business consultants explain what municipalities and investors, in rural as well as urban areas, need to be aware of.
Frank Uffen, a co-founder of The Class of 2020 and a Director of Marketing and Partnerships at The Student Hotel, will speak at the YIG – a part of the ITB Trade Fair in Berlin. The panel discussion will focus on relevant trends in higher education and youth travel for investors and future developments in the European student housing market.
The Student Hotel recently received a capital increase and equity commitment of EUR 150 million funded by Perella Weinberg Real Estate which will enable the Amsterdam-based student accommodation provider to expand into Europe. The group has currently 2,400 rooms in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague under management with and an international project pipeline of 10,000 rooms in cities like Paris and Barcelona.
